AUDITION INFORMATION

Membership in the Chorus is open to any child entering
grades 2 through 8 in the fall of 2008, by audition.  Children from
all economic and ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to
audition. Currently, 200 children are enrolled in the program.

Currently weekly rehearsals are held on Tuesdays or Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. at various locations.

 

Date, time and location of rehearsals for 2008-2009 season will be decided after contracts are turned in July, 2008.

ANNUALTUITION FEES

Scholarship assistance is available to children in
need.   Please ask for a scholarship application at
the audition.

Preparatory Choir - $250              Town Choir - $450
Concert Choir - $450

THE PREPARATORY CHOIR

A new addition to our roster of choirs is a Preparatory Choir for children entering 2nd and 3rd grades in the fall of 2008. 

Auditions are not required.  All are welcome!! 

 This choir will meet once a week for one hour.

THE TOWN CHOIR

The Town Choir is a training choir for children
entering grades 4-8 in the fall of 2008.    Children will be taught musical,
rehearsal, vocal, and performance skills while in this
group.  This choir will perform at various times throughout the year.

  The Town Choir children will meet once a week, for one hour and fifteen minutes.   

Children are required to complete one year in the Town Choir before being allowed to audition for the Chorus Concert Choir.   

2007-2008 Tuition is $450 per year.

MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

- Sing with a clear tone enabling blend with others
- Sing in tune with an unchanged voice
- Demonstrate a good sense of rhythm
- Demonstrate self-disciplined and attentive behavior
- Have a positive attitude
- Commit to a one-year membership

    TOWN CHOIR AUDITION DAY PROCEDURES

-Sing the first stanza of My Country Tis of Thee

       -Sight-read short rhythmic patterns.  Sing several melodic patterns dictated on the piano.

    -Sing ascending and descending scales with the piano to check range
